Human Rights Policy

1. Policy statement
Aelan Consulting Ltd (“Aelan Consulting”) is committed to respecting internationally recognised human rights and conducting its business in an ethical, responsible, and lawful manner. This commitment is guided by the principles set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and relevant International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- The director of Aelan Consulting
- Any future employees, contractors, or subcontractors engaged by the company
- All business activities and client engagements, regardless of geographic location
Aelan Consulting is a UK-registered consultancy providing professional and advisory services and does not engage in the production or sale of physical goods.
3. Our commitments
Aelan Consulting commits to:
- Respecting human rights in all its operations and business relationships
- Avoiding causing or contributing to adverse human rights impacts, and addressing such impacts should they arise
- Providing a professional working environment that is fair, respectful, and free from discrimination, harassment, or abuse
- Promoting equal opportunity and non-discrimination, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic
- Prohibiting forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking in any form
- Respecting freedom of association and collective bargaining, where applicable
4. Business partners and suppliers
Aelan Consulting currently procures only professional and digital services (such as software, cloud services, professional advisers, and business travel).
Where subcontractors or business partners are engaged in the future, Aelan Consulting will seek to work with parties that uphold similar standards of ethical conduct and respect for human rights, in a manner proportionate to the nature and scale of the engagement.
5. Governance and responsibility
As a director-led company, responsibility for implementing and overseeing this policy rests with the Founder and CEO. Human rights considerations are integrated into business decisions, professional conduct, and client engagement practices.
6. Reporting and concerns
Any concerns relating to human rights impacts connected to Aelan Consulting’s activities or business relationships may be raised directly with management and will be addressed appropriately. Aelan Consulting does not tolerate retaliation against anyone raising concerns in good faith.
7. Review
This policy is reviewed periodically and updated as necessary to reflect changes in the company’s activities, regulatory requirements, or best practice.
